Howdy from the Ozarks!
I live amongst some of the best riding in the USA. My current rides, are a 2021 Harley Davidson Heritage 114. The only regreted purchase in my collection. It is fricken fast, but it is a traffic ticket machine. You can't ride it like any other bike. On most bikes, you can generally tell how fast you are going, by engine sound, vibration, etc. You know, by the seat of your pants. Every new bike, that I buy, gets run hard, at least once. Just to see what she can do. This one damn near killed me. I was accelerating hard, in sixth gear, when I hit the speed limiter, set at 115MPH. It was such a sudden stop of acceleration, it damn near threw me over the handlebars. But enough bitching about that bike, I will go on with the rest. I also have my current favorite, my 2010 Heritage Softail Classic. Something about the 96CI twin cam, just makes this bike, my travel bike. If I want to leave my home in NW Arkansas, at 4am Central time and head west, I can be in Buena Vista Colorado by 6pm Mountian time. I know I can, because I have done it. I didn't even feel sore, the next day. At 61 years of age, that's saying something. I once had a 2009 Heritage, but I stupidly traded it on a 2009 Street Glide. Thought it would be a better distance bike. Nope. Not my cup of tea. I still wish I had that bike back.
I also have my favorite bar hopper. My 1997 Harley Fatboy. It is like the perfect for short rides. And something about that evo rumble makes any young lady, that I can get to hop on the passenger seat, want to get frisky, when the ride is done. I love the evo motor. Even an old trucker like me can wrench on an evo. They are straight forward, and damn near bullet proof.
The last bike, that I currently have running is my 1973 Harley Davidson SS350, made by Aermacchi when they were owned by AMF, who also owned Harley Davidson. Back in the 1970s, when I was a kid, I always wanted one, but had to stick with my Honda 125, because of cash flow issues. So now that I can afford it, I bought one. Still rides great.
Happy to be hear
