1988 vt1100c California model- velocity stacks+jets+straight pipes....Evap canister, and hose delete?

  • I have a 1988 Honda Shadow VT1100C California Edition. I've recently added TJ Brutal Customs Velocity Stacks and the Performance Carb Rebuild Kit.

TL:DR what do i need to cap off on my carbs to Delete the canister and emissons jazz, to allow the volocity stacks to fit well.

I do want to say I don't have the TJ Brutal exhaust, but the exhaust that I have on there are pretty similar because They're straight pipes, they're just a bit longer. It's an older bike, I can't seem to find the actual aftermarket brand, but I think they're the Cobra shotgun straight pipes, something like that.

Anyhow, on the front carb, I put the 195 main, and the 45 pilot. And then on the back, I did 198 with the 45 pilot. I did this because the front cyclinder's pipe is about 20" longer than the rear.

I added the rad adjustment screws, and ran them all the way in, then backed them out two and a half turns. i added the velocity stacks, they do fit, but that weird little plastic reservoir deal that goes from the air box to the rear cylinder, really gets in the way. I can't bolt it down. So it's just kind of sitting on top of stack, i would like to remove it...which leads me to all these extra hoses. If I could just delete all the CA emissons BS, that'd be great. ideally I could just remove all of the excess hoses and canister on there. But I just don't know what to cap off on the carb. I would like to have some sort of video. I can't find one on the internet. So I would like to just know what I can and can't cap off on that dual carb setup, to accomodate the stacks and get this pig running good again.

Im also curious if it is a good idea to do the "isolated tuning" to each one carb ,given the fact that the front pipe or the front cylinder has about 20 inches longer of pipes. I did take the baffles out. So they're straight pipes.

i can post pics too if need be.

    Thanks yall
