1983 Honda Shadow VT750C parts

  • I have been looking around for parts for my 83 vt750c and I'm having trouble. I either can't find them or don't trust the sketchy website they are on. The bike is rough around the edges but I believe it'll come around to be a pretty good rig. The main thing I'm concerned about finding is a carb kit. Will the one on tjbc for the 700/750 dual carbs work? If not, where could I find one?

  • I'm not sure what country you are in by in the united states I found a complete rebuild kit for my carbs on ebay. I hae the same bike and found alot of the parts i needed there. Almost enough to build a whole new bike, they even have complete carbs. Prices vary so you will have to search to get the price you want.

  • @fred sumner beware. those carbs are not the same as stock. many of the threads, sizes and tolerance are way out of wack. im speaking from experience. just saying be prepared to initiate a return or figureout a way to DIY the thing into working properly!

  • I am in the US but as TJ said, I have trust issues with a lot of things from eBay. I am looking for a reputable, quality carb kit or replacement for my shadow

  • Is there anywhere besides eBay for carbs? And what about my other questions above?

  • @Corbin Irwin not for that bike. theres a reson i dont deal with them. to the best of my knowledge, our VT750 dual carb kits arent fuilly compatible with the 83 VT750C. i dont think the slide assemblies are the same. the bolts, jets and float valves should be ok but im not sure about everything else.

  • Why don't you deal with those bikes? I am thinking about swapping the carbs to the ace carbs because I believe that would be easier due to parts for the 83 are a pain.

  • @Corbin Irwin well for that exact reason, it was made for one year.  And if you want to rebuild them, parts are virtually non existent. There arent enough of the early 80's VT750's to warrant putting the time and money into R&D for parts.
