I Have a genuine question, if I install the max performance kit from TJBC , will the velocity stacks and tracker exhaust cause my bike to have no back pressure? And burn more fuel?
I am really excited to rebuild my carb with the TJ Max performance kit, just don't know if I am going to loose my back pressure. Am I going to have to choose between open exhaust or velocity stacks?
@Will Stocking dude i have had this querstion asked more times in 20 years than i have farted in that time. no, you will not "lose backpressure" if that were true how would THOUSANDS of guys out there be riding my setups quite successfuly for 20 years now??? if you are concerned about backpressure and scavenging effects and reversion waves and a number of other shit that really doesnt apply to a VT600 cruiser, then you should be racing in the isle of man race where grams of weight, .001 of a second in race times count, and exhaust is pretty much thrown away after one race.
if you get the kit, you will be fine and youll have a really good time on a bike thats woken the fuck up!
What the kits do is allow your engine to function as efficiently as poissible, which is moving fuel and air in and exhaust out as quickly as possible. open in take and open exhaust acheive this. this is the best thing you can do for your engine befor eyou start gettign into forced aspiration, and on acarbureted cv carb bike, thats a nightmare, so natural aspiration is your best bet.
mpg is DRASTICALLY determined by how you use the throttle, and how much weight the bike is moving.
I promise you if you tune properly you will not be bummed at all with the results of the kit.
