Hello everyone, i have inherited a 2003 Honda Shadow ACE VT750CDD Deluxe from my Father In Law. I am currently in the process of fixing it up as nice as i can because it is now very special for my wife and i for sentimental reasons. Anyway, the Carburetors are in much need of a refresh which is one of the first things i am going to do. When its done it will have stock intake with some kind of aftermarket exhaust as mine is missing, will i need any kind of rejetting from using a different exhaust or will stock jetting be sufficient? I guess i should mention that reliability is my number one priority for this particular bike. Also, any recommendations for some pipes would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
@Brandon McNeese you will need to adjust your tuning for an after market exhaust.
if you choose an exhaust with removable baffles or exhuast with mufflers, you can use our stock rebuild kit. but youll need to tune onbiously.
The choice of intake and exhaust does not affect a bikes reliability, the condition of the components of the whole and the wear stage affect reliability. you can run stacks and open pipes, and get more power from the bike and it is just as if not more reliable than a stock setup. if your stock intake setup develops a leak, theres a lot to test and remove to chase down a problem.
