1975 AMF Aramaki/Harley-Davidson sx250

  • So my father left me this bike and I've been slowly putting parts together and rebuilding it I've built motorbike and motor assisted bicycles since I was a young man so I'm no stranger to a toolbox but I have a very unique problem that I've never come across I'm trying to fit a Sportster front end into an Italian made Harley-Davidson frame so I'm trying to convert standard measurement to metric measurement

This is what I'm working withBearing Inner Diameter (ID): 1.000 inch (25.4mm) — To fit a modern 1" Sportster stem.

Bearing Outer Diameter (OD): 1.625 inches (41.28mm) — To fit the 1-5/8" Aermacchi frame neck tube.

These are the measurements that I need for the cup bearings to fit the neck and the stim and I can't find them nowhere does anybody have any advice

  • i look foward to seeing the "final form" as for the front end issue, ide be no help there other than if all else failes try to frankenstien it with like a metric front end before haveing to fabricate your own.

  • @billyaraulston526 unfortunately these dimensions dont leave any room for a tapered bearing to exist.

i suggest trying one of these kits - t.ly/uima_ intended to allow you to run 1" harley stems and springers on early K model sportsters and such.
