Tuning Issues 1997 Honda Shadow VT600

  • Hey I just installed my Carb performance kit and boot burner pipes on my 1997 Honda Shadow VT600 dual carb. Everything has seemed great other than bogging and cutting out from wind gusts and when i'm past 65mph. Today, I decided to put shims on my needles and the bogging went away and ran almost perfectly. I tried to fine tune a bit more but that caused the bike to start popping very bad on decel and would die when I pull in the clutch after WOT. I decided to go back to my original tuning. However, the air/fuel mixture screws stopped and bottomed at 3 on one side and 4 on the other side when they originally both stopped at 1. I went ahead and went 2 1/2 turned out like I had before anyway and no matter what now my bike is popping and and stalling. Not sure what to do, tried to tune all day today and doesn't seem to get any better. Any thoughts?

  • @Logan Sempsrott this is everything you need to figure out your tuning - https://shoptjbc.com/community/brutalforums/topic/176621/tuning-your-carbureted-honda-shadow-everything-you-need-to-know

  • @TJ Thanks! I had looked over that before. I think my problem may have just been a low battery causing the bike to run bad. I Just replaced it 2 weeks ago so it's time to check my wiring, regulator, and stator...😅

  • @Logan Sempsrott batteries ar eonly good for about 3 years. aftert that i just replace them. its also possibel to just get a bad battery!
