TJBrutalCustoms oil advice is wrong and just a myth!

  • G'day!

I just watched this video on youtube and would like to point out something wrong with it...
The DUMBEST Reasons Motorcycles Break (Most Riders Do Them)

I had left a comment on there, but i thought i would point out here that changing your oil hot or cold is the same thing, but changing the oil whilst its warm, can actually do more harm then good, kind of!

Here is my comment to your video here...
"Im sorry but i have to beg to differ with one thing...

This thing that people say warm up the engine before changing the oil, is a bit counter intuitive and silly if you actually truly think about what your saying, do the science if you dont believe me and you will see why its so stupid.

ALL THE OIL SITS IN THE OIL PAN ! ! ! PERIOD !
Whether its hot OR cold, it dont matter...

I really dont know how or why this none sense got started, but it has to stop with this bullshit.

    FACTS !
HOT OR COLD regardless what temperature it is, is ALWAYS going to be emptied the same way.

    PROOF !
do this experiment and you will find im 100% right, so you can stop telling people to warm up the oil before oil changes so people dont get burnt. fill up an engine with oil and put a colour dye in the oil, then after emptying the oil, strip down the engine and you will see that the oil will still be where the oil will be, regardless whether you empty the oil hot or cold.

    NOT hatin, just sayin.
Just the fact you saying this, makes you look and sound stupid and dont know your stuff, being a motorcycle tinkerer like yourself after all these years dont lower yourself with this type none sense shit, mate.

Further more, you will be wearing out your engine quicker, if you do your oil change whilst its warm and not when its really hot or when its really cold."

But i thought i might add more information as to why its BAD if you change the oil whilst its warm...

I have seen and met people that have done this in the past and told them to stop it as it ruins and wrecks the engine quicker.
What im refferring to is when people leave the the car or motorcycle over night, then warm it up and then drop the oil.
This actually ruins the engine as the oil is not hot enough to turn into water per say, and a little too cold so the oil is still thick and slow to move around, so when you dump the oil, not only are you not going to obatin all of it, there is going to be a lot of other stuff still sitting inside the engine that hasnt yet had the time to reach the bottom, like metal shavings etc...
but this isnt really an issue if your using a proper good quality oil filter.

So yeah, technically it doesnt matter weather the oil is at normal operating temperature hot or cold, its still the same, it only matters when or if its warm it does.

So please stop telling people to go and drive for 10 to 20mins then dump the oil, its stupid.
