2002 Honda shadow aero 750 American Classic Edition please help

  I just bought a 2002 Honda shadow aero 750 American classic edition. Well my chain broke off, got it back to my buddies place  and noticed that the rear sprocket and the the hub piece it's connected to spins a like half inch to right and left. This is my first bike 😑 please help!!!
