The name is Austin, I'm from over here in the Houston area. I finally got my first bike after years of looking at getting one. Super stoked, but it needs some work. A friend of mine has had this sitting in the garage for a few years and we found out he was looking to just get it out and had been calling around for someone to just come and scrap it. Now it's mine! For "free"! It's a 2005 VT750DC, and since I've always been into the bobber style bike I ended up here after looking at what could be done to customize the bike.
It had been sitting because he had some carb issues and when trying to fix it one of the jets was stuck in the threads. So he said I should only need to get a new one to get it back up and running. He had gone at the jet with a wrench and blowtorch so it was pretty fucked. I was hoping I could get it out and just do a rebuild of the carb but I actually made it worse and cracked the housing, so unfortunately learned some lessons there, and didn't make anything better. Searching around for an OEM carb now.

Nice bike man. Get excited to start ripping off all the stock stuff, cuz that's a great part. Make sure to post updates. RIP your carb. I have an '05 VLX600 and the only oem I can find are used on eBay. But you may have a better time rebuilding one of those than rolling the dice on one made of chinesium from Amazon. It's really a shitshoot either way as far as I can tell.
@Austin DuBois great score dude!! so keep that set of carbns you have incase you need parts. You can get any dual carb for a honda vt600 or dual carbed VT750, such as the spirit vt750. they are the same carbs bodies just different jetting, i recommend getting one off ebay, but get it from aone of the places thats parting abike out and they often times have video of thre bike running as part of the ad. DO NOT buy the chinesium knock offs. youll hate it and waste your money.
You should also grab a paior of intake boots off the site tjbrutalcustoms.com because i promise you the old intake boots will not seal again. good luck my man!
@James Everette Hi James! you are absolutely correct. i would only use a chinesium one if i was really really dumb LOL
