Do not wrap these pipes, doing so will void the warranty as well as increase the chances of corrosion and failure.
VELOCITY STACKS:
If you remove the airbox components on a Honda Shadow with dual carbs, the carbs will have a hard time creating enough negative vacuum to pull in a steady flow of fuel from the pilot and main jet. The solution to this issue? Velocity Stacks! This allows the carburetors venturi to be lengthened enough so that the engine can maintain constant vacuum beyond the slide of each carb, as well as allow the air turbulence to be reduced. resulting in a much smoother delivery of air and fuel emulsification to your engine.
VT1100 PERFORMANCE CARB REBUILD KIT:
With our velocity stacks and/or exhaust you will definitely need to re-jet and tune your carb, and there is no better kit to do it with than this one!
Any time a change is made to exhaust or intake, a re-jet is necessary. Sometimes this change is subtle, other times, the change is more drastic, And there is no quick one size fits all formula, so tuning does mean you may need to pull the carbs a few times. we recommend a little grease on the intake boots to ease the installation and removal of the carbs. Nobody likes chafing! Lube helps!!
This kit is meant to work with a free flowing velocity stack intake and a free flowing exhaust system. This is intended as a performance upgrade with velocity stacks and or/open exhaust and is not recommended for a stock intake/exhaust setup.
Not all carbs will require the vacuum plugs. your carbs may not have the nipples that need to be plugged.
If you decide to put these on the early gen VT1100's with the two-piece right side, side covers, then you will need to remove the right side side cover to run these. This is why we do not advertise that they are a direct fit for anything not clearly stated in this description.

I just needed the carb rebuilt, but decided to go the extra mile and it was worth every penny. Installation was relatively easy with some minor hurdles. Any difficulties were easily overcome with the plethora of tuning knowledge and experience provided in the help pages of this site.
Not only did this fix the issue I was having with the carb, but it exceeded my expectations for the performance enhancement of my bike. Not to mention the new pipes sound amazing.
Before it was sluggish and would hesitate under high throttle or speed, but now I get consistent acceleration all the way to redline up to ~110mph.
In summation, excellent kit. Excellent price. Extremely happy with the improvement.

HUGE IMPROVEMENT IN SOUND AND PERFORMANCE. FOR ME, IT WAS WELL WORTH THE MONEY.
First I'd like to start by saying after a lot more trial and error i did finally get everything working. The kit overall was great and the YouTube tutorials were amazing. My only issue was that one of the number 50 pilot jets was defective. Found out while playing with jet sizes and that the defective one was not properly machined making it act more like a 42 than a 50. This caused an afterfire on one cylinder. Found a universal jet kit on Amazon and replaced with a different 50 jet and now the bike runs amazing. Overall I highly recommend this kit for the value I think I just got the unlucky jet. My coworkers are always telling me if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck lol.
