vt650 and nt650 v deauville

  • i have a question a about both the vt650 (and others) and the nt650 vtwin bikes. seeing they both have similar power and 52 degree angle. how interchangeable are the parts for the engine tuning. as i do luke the deauville bike for its utility and looks. i do hear that the power delivery could be a bit spiced up. i do like it having the lighter frames as opposed to the bigger st1100 bikes. and all i heard about the vt series is that the sound is just awesome.

thanks in advance for any reaction.

  • @NickelB im not familiar with any VT650's I deal with the Honda VT600 and VT750's
What brand and models are you referring to?

  • sorry, would be the vt600 and vt750. the shadow models. and nt650 and nt700 deauville are these bikes. they both also have a 52 degree v-twin.

  • @NickelB im so sory man but both the NT650 or the Hawk GT i do not think is interchangeable with Honda shadow parts. the NT700 was never sold in america only imported in a few case. and again i dont think parts would be interchangeable. you MAY Have some luck here and there but, i cant give you any realistic information on interchangeable part numbers. typically if a part # can be used by multiple models then honda will list that.
The carbs look similar but i know in the early 90's honda ditched their earlier carb designs and made some modifications.
After some research and investigating the designs, the NT700 does look like its a cousin to the 750's but i really wouldnt think that parts are interchangeable. the carbs to not mount the same, the exhaust ports are in diferent locations.
I do know the transalp 650 is VERY close to the VT600, and it seems many elements of the design were borrowed to design the VT600 engine, whihc is obviously far more dressed up than a trransalp.

Maybe just try opening up your intake and get some bigger jets in the carbs, that alone could wake the bike up a considerable amount.
