Once your old inspection caps have been removed, put a thin coating of molybdenum disulfide grease or oil (MoS2) on the threads and the o-ring of the new inspection caps before threading in. Lucas makes a decent semi-synthetic assembly lube which will do the trick. This prevents the threads from galling and getting stuck,  and prevents the o-ring from binding and kinking when being threaded into the case.
